Is 'Walking' distance shorter than 'Walkable' distance?

I say, the stationary store is 'walking distance' from my home and my office is 'walkable distance' from my home.

Does it mean the same or is it that the stationary store is very near to my home and the office is not so near but at a distance that you can reach by walk?

Kindly help me with this.

Hey! never thought about that....But I've no idea....I guess it would be best to say the distance is walkable...:-D

Any distance is walkable if you're willing to walk it.And "walking distance" is subjective..so it's really a vague measure for distance. Also when you say "so-and-so place is 2 minutes from here" it's not really helpful I think.
